I bought the case with a solar panel inside the kit on their website. Obviously I would love to be able to charge the battery with that, I have no knowledge of batteries but I am pretty sure there is a limit for a small panel like that to charge anything.

As I understand it, store and forward (S&F) is a function of a node that means it can keep messages that arrived and re-transmit them to you on request. This makes the Mesh better at getting messages through to you even if your node was out of range or down when the messages were sent. S&F has to be activated in the S&F node in the "module" settings.

Hello everyone, I am planning to build 2-3 router/client nodes with solar power. I saw that the WisBlock Base Board has a battery and solar port. Does anyone know what kind of plugs are needed? JST 2.0? for the battery. Has anyone already worked with the integrated charge controller? First wanted to use external charging electronics. A Li-Ion battery 3.7V
Poor nRF52 thread got sidetracked, so let''s start a specific one for this subject of eternal controversy. The requirement is concurrent charging of one lithium or lifepo4 cell while simultaneously powering the meshtastic device. About linear chargers: I think that linear chargers such as the bq24210 or the adafruit board would do good enough in this use case. If you have

TLDR: Meshtastic is an open-source, decentralized mesh communication protocol that enables long-range, low-power, and secure communication between devices. Solar nodes are self-powered devices that use solar energy to operate continuously and extend the reach and reliability of Meshtastic networks, particularly in remote or off-grid locations.

Solar panel is from a trail camera i had. It has an internal pouch battery(1700mah) i also added another battery inside it, same type. Solar panel is rated 1.8w, but i really think it''s half under good circumstances. Since the solar panel outputs 6v i added a diode with voltage drop of 0.7v so the input is about 5.3v.

2. Select the Right Solar Charger. Look for a portable solar charger that can provide enough power to keep your LoRa devices charged. Here are a few things to consider when choosing a solar charger: Power Output: A solar panel with a power output of 5 watts or more should be sufficient for charging small devices like LoRa radios. Some panels have built

Hi ya''ll, So starting with the 1.1 series of releases the firmware is smarter about power management. And part of that is that it assumes that if it has power coming in via the USB port it doesn''t need to sleep. This is really useful for most users because if they hook up external power the bluetooth stays always connected (or they can connect to the deivce over USB). But
The Harbor Breeze Solar LED light can be purchased for about $15 and includes a capable solar panel, lithium ion cell and charge controller in a waterproof enclosure. The RAK baseboards fit perfectly inside the solar compartment. Below are the steps for completing this hack for a completely weatherproof solar powered Meshtastic node. Skills needed

IMO (if it is like other RAK boards I purchased in the past): Pros compared to a TBEAM: more ''industrial strength / less hobbyist'' focused hardware, industrial design & documentation. much lower current draw (because nrf52) off the shelf enclosure with solar bluetooth can stay always awake for close to zero power cost (because nrf52) plugable sensor

Great info. I could not get the green power module to work at all but then that is not saying much. In the build Solar node for top of tall building using the Waveshare D solar power manager I used 3 x 18650 batteries (protected) and my testing showed that it re-starts after brownout: but from the data over the mesh concerning the voltage level of the device, which
This is a set of files to make a complete Meshtastic Pro or Ultimate solar node. To make them, you will need to print one of the Main Body files, depending on if you want to use an SMA or N-Male antenna base. Then you need to print a panel base to match whatever solar panel you want to use. I''m including three sizes, which are fairly easy to match. You''ll also need a double

I ordered a WisBlock Meshtastic Starter Kit and received it a few days ago. I built out my setup with a 6w 5V solar panel and 2P 18650 3.7v batteries. After installation the RED LED indicating the solar charger was charging seemed to work fine. The voltage increased from 3.7v to 3.75v sometime since then, so it was charging the battery.
As with the solar panel, I spent a lot of time looking for the correct bracket. The z-bracket I chose was for two reasons: it offers a easier mounting solution for either a pole or flat surface.
Here''s my new solar base station design. I''ll make it available on Printables and Etsy. The biggest improvements are: size, arbitrary angle, and cost. The other benefit of this design is that you could use this for a lot of other things, not just Meshtastic (weather station, camera, etc).
It''s a Wisblock meshtastic kit, with an 18650, in a plastic box, with a 2w USB solar panel glued to the top and wired straight into the USB of the Wisblock. There''s one that''s been designed specifically for Meshtastic solar node purposes (although can be used for electronics in general), and can be purchased here:
